The Opportunity

As a strategic and dynamic finance leader, you will be spearheading change and strategy, driving efficiencies and improvements across our businesses in the UK, France, Germany and USA to support our ambitious growth plans.


You will be part of our executive team, using your strategic insights to steer and influence the direction of the organisation and build the future of the business. You must be able to demonstrate major contributions to strategic, commercial, and operational decision-making processes.


Leading the relationships for audit, tax, overseas statutory accountants, banking, financing and insurance. Producing the statutory accounts for 3 UK, and 4 overseas entities. Managing the Finance, IT, HR and SHEQ teams will also fall under your remit.


Responsibilities

  • Financial Leadership: Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with our long-term goals.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to set targets and monitor performance.
  • Financial Reporting: Generate accurate and timely reports, and presenting performance data to executives and the board, to include but not limited to: profit centre budgetary controls, margin analysis, KPI trend/sensitivity, business and cash forecasting, working capital measurement and risk management.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks, implementing controls to protect our assets and integrity.
  • Cash Management: Optimise cash flow, oversee banking relationships, and manage expenditure.
  • Financial Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards.
  • Strategic Planning: Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and compliance team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  • Audit Management: Coordinate external financial audits, addressing audit findings as needed.



Requirements
  • Fully qualified in relevant finance degree.
  • Proven experience as a Finance Director for a privately owned group of companies.
  • Must have experience of manufacturing or engineering industries.
  • Expert knowledge of financial management, accounting principles, and financial regulations.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, financial modelling software).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
