Due to continuing growth and development of Merlin\'s attractions and brands on a global scale, we are looking for a Group FP&A Senior Analyst to join our Finance team. This is a 6-month fixed-term contract, with the potential for extension based on business needs and individual performance. The role will be based at our The Merlin Hub - Basingstoke office.

About the Role...

As the Group FP&A Senior Analyst, you will be a pivotal member of the Group Finance team, supporting key financial processes such as forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning. Your expertise will also be instrumental in providing insightful internal reports that help drive strategic decision-making across the organization.

You will support the delivery of regular and ad-hoc budgeting and reporting activities and utilize advanced excel modelling and macro\'s to perform data analysis and support group-wide processes efficiently. Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Develop and maintain complex financial models in Excel, presenting data in a clear, engaging, and succinct manner.
  • Analyse large datasets, identify errors, and extract valuable business insights to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
  • Utilize IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) and Hyperion tools effectively to enhance financial reporting capabilities.
  • Consolidate financial information from multiple sites and countries to provide a comprehensive overview of the organization\'s financial performance.
  • Prepare and present insightful reports to key stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Continuously monitor financial performance against targets and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
About You...
  • Demonstrated expertise in Excel modelling and data analysis, with the ability to present complex financial data in a user-friendly manner.
  • Proficiency in using IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) and Hyperion for financial planning and reporting.
  • Prior experience working in a consolidation role within a multi-site, multi-country organization.
  • A recognized accountancy qualification with a minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience (PQE).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, ensuring data accuracy and reliability.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities, capable of conveying financial insights to both finance and non-finance stakeholders effectively.
The role will be based in Basingstoke; however, there may be occasional travel to Basingstoke from other Merlin sites as required.
