Are you seeking a role which offers the opportunity to work with the latest software and technology in Hydrographic Surveying? Are you excited to work within a dynamic marine environment, combining flexible and boat-based working to develop your skills and expertise? We have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Graduate Hydrographic Surveyor, playing a critical role in delivering safety of navigation across seven statutory harbour authorities.
Your Role
As a Graduate Hydrographic Surveyor, you will have the opportunity to work across a range of activities with the support of a talented team to help you to develop your career.
You will work both on land and at sea, collecting, analysing, and providing survey data. As a subject matter expert in the physical marine environment, you will ensure data and information is accurate and can be used to inform key decision making and strategy. You will also have opportunities to undertake various CPD activities such as attending seminars, conferences, training and researching techniques, whilst working towards formal accreditation. Using this knowledge, you will help improve processes and systems, ensuring we are always working with the latest thinking and software.
You will understand and undertake calibration and installation of equipment where necessary, developing knowledge of MetOcean systems. There will also be an opportunity to train on our autonomous surface vessel (USV) and deploy this to the field. Going forward, you will increasingly develop your technical expertise and expand your role into new areas, including dredging and the role of the Harbour Master, achieving industry- standard qualifications.

a focused mindset to the role
a flexible approach and be willing to travel away from home to site when required, which may include overnight stays
a full valid UK driving licence
