Our Group Guest Services Host role:
This is a key role gathering information about our guests at Watergate Bay Hotel and Another Place Hotels. From identifying their plans and requirements pre-arrival you'll then be assisting the operational team in house to deliver our guests the best experience with us.
From individual stays and family groups to Active Breaks, corporate days, special celebrations and events you will get to know our guests before they arrive ensuring every detail is tailored to their needs.
You'll be the bridge between our guests and the hotel teams, helping to personalise stays with thoughtful touches, coordinating room preferences, dietary requirements, activity bookings, and spa treatments. Whether it's arranging a surprise, booking surf lessons, or making sure a family's dog-friendly room is ready, you'll play a vital part in creating memorable moments. You'll also be involved in collating and responding to guest feedback
For this role you base will be our head office situated in St Mawgan, Newquay but you'll also be flexible to support other teams within the business when needed, particularly the Reservations teams and Host team.
Please note, this role is temporary to cover parental leave for up to 9 months. We work five days out of seven, so would require flexibility and a willingness to work over the weekend.
As our Group Guest Services Host, you'll be:
Carrying out all necessary tasks and processes for arriving guests.
A competent user of all our property management, booking software packages, review platforms and apps.
Working as part of an office team, dealing with upcoming guests by email and phone to make reservations, gather information, take payments, and plan their stays.
Providing guests with information about the hotel and its facilities as well as the local area.
Considering upselling opportunities to the benefit of the guest experience and business goals.
Undertaking administrative duties as required. Ensuring accuracy of information for bookings.
Ensuring information is shared with other teams in appropriate ways.
Supporting with events before and during to ensure smooth delivery.
Assisting the Guest Services manager and senior hosts in Managing and responding to all guest feedback. Sometimes writing on behalf of the hotel director and head of guest experience. This will include feedback platforms including TripAdvisor and Google My Business for Watergate Bay Hotel, SeaSpace and Another Place hotels.
Working with other colleagues, both in the office and within the hotel as required.
Assisting in other areas of the business when required.
