A newly created HSE leadership role at a fast-growing acquisition and integration business that's transforming the UK recycling and circular economy sector. The company has strong investment, ambitious growth plans and you'll be leading health, safety, and environmental standards across a nationwide network, driving best practice and compliance as the company integrates multiple regional operations.
The Group Head of HSE will be responsible for:

  • Leading and implementing a group-wide HSE strategy to ensure compliance, continuous improvement and a proactive safety culture across all subsidiaries.
  • Driving governance and compliance, including ISO certifications, audits, and acting as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies and stakeholders.
  • Providing operational oversight, supporting site teams with risk assessments, incident investigations, and performance monitoring to improve safety metrics.
  • Championing cultural change and training, engaging at all levels to embedding safe behaviours, mentoring HSE professionals, and delivering impactful safety campaigns.
The Group Head of HSE will have:
  • 10+ years' HSE leadership experience, ideally in waste management; proven ability to deliver strategic safety initiatives across multi-site operations.
  • NEBOSH Diploma (Level 6+), Chartered IOSH (or working towards), deep knowledge of UK HSE legislation and ISO standards.
  • Ability to communicate with gravitas to engage at Board level and frontline, driving cultural and behavioural change.
  • Flexibility to travel nationwide.
