Supporting the business and our divisional offices, our Head Office functions cover all departments from our Executive Board through to our support functions such as Group Design and Technical, HR, Health and Safety, IT, Sales and Marketing, Commercial, Procurement, Group Finance, Corporate Affairs, as well as Legal and Company Secretariat. We also have a specialised function - Barratt Partnerships.

The Group Internal Auditor will support the delivery of internal audits across all Group functions (including central functions, Shared Service Centre, and Group operational functions), to provide independent assurance over the effectiveness of internal controls and contribute to the continuous improvement of the internal audit department.
The role will act as team-player to support the wider Audit and Risk function, as directed by the Director of Audit and Risk, to deliver the approved internal audit plan and support investigations and other assurance activities as required.
The role will be responsible for:
Supporting the planning, fieldwork and reporting of independent internal audits for all Group functions;
Support for the development and delivery of data analytics within internal audits;
Supporting the monitoring, triaging and initial response to Safecall third party whistleblowing reports, escalating to the Head of Group Audit and Director of Audit and Risk where required;
Supporting the Head of Group Audit in the performance of confidential and independent investigations, including fraud investigations;
Tracking and reporting of Group management actions; and
Supporting on providing data to the Head of Group Audit for Audit and Risk Committee reporting.
What you'll need?
To be successful in the role, we are looking for: Degree in any subject
Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
Internal / external audit experience
Big 4 experience preferable, although not essential
Experience of developing and implementing data analytics
Good communication and interpersonal skills, ability to building open, honest and robust stakeholder relationships with management at all levels
Able to work independently, a self-starter, able to multiple-task and complete work once started to a high standard.
Attention to detail, strong report writing skills
