Primary Function and Purpose

Astrea is looking for a technically strong accountant with some commercial acumen and exposure, who truly wants to make a difference and impact in a high growth environment offering an exceptional opportunity to help grow expand their career.

The candidate must be capable of juggling multiple priorities and working cross functionally and across geographical boundaries. Principle Responsibilities:

The principal Group Reporting & Controls Accountant tasks will be all aspects of the group accounting, consolidation, reporting and analysis. In this position you will provide valuable data insights & trends to aid fact-based decision making as well as build a controls-based approach throughout the business.

The role will include but will not be limited to the following activities:

  • Preparing the monthly Group consolidation in line with IFRS reporting standards
  • Maintaining financial Power BI reports which have a wide audience across the business and are used within the monthly reporting
  • Coordinating and creating the Business Review Pack that is presented to the Senior Management Team in Astrea and its parent company on a monthly basis; following up on questions from this
  • Reviewing and implementing process improvements to reinforce a robust environment for financial practices
  • Preparation of technical accounting papers
  • Creating reports which identify results, trends and forecasts; using these data insights to drive better fact based actions
  • Support the business with the financial strategy and decision-making process
  • Active part in the audit and statutory accounts preparation process
Qualifications:
  • Candidate will ideally be ACA qualified with some post qualification experience (but other qualifications will be considered). Will consider candidates looking for their first move from practice
  • Ideally some experience of or exposure to performing international group consolidations. They must be strong technically with good knowledge of IFRS
