Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced

Gym Manager

to lead the day-to-day operations of our brand-new, community-focused leisure facility in Deeside. This is a key leadership role that involves overseeing staff, ensuring excellent service delivery, and promoting inclusive health and wellbeing programmes for all ages and backgrounds.

The successful candidate will be a confident team leader with a strong background in fitness or leisure services and a passion for community engagement. You will play a vital role in building local partnerships, managing resources, and driving participation across a range of physical activity and wellness programmes.

Key Responsibilities



Manage the overall operation of the gym, ensuring health and safety compliance, facility maintenance, and high service standards. Lead and supervise a team of fitness instructors, part-time coaches, administrative staff, and third-party contractors. Create and manage staff rotas, approve leave requests, and ensure adequate shift coverage across all operational hours. Oversee the facility's budget, including financial reporting, purchasing, income targets, and cost control. Manage contracts for services such as cleaning, maintenance, and catering. Plan and implement class timetables, fitness sessions, and health-related community events that reflect local demand. Work closely with local schools, health organisations, and sports groups to promote participation and community wellbeing. Track performance metrics such as footfall, revenue, programme uptake, and customer feedback. Coordinate marketing and outreach, including social media, local press, flyers, and community engagement initiatives. Support the delivery of specialist services such as health talks, wellness workshops, and inclusive fitness events.

Required Skills and Qualifications



Proven experience in gym or leisure facility management. Strong leadership and people management skills. Excellent organisational and financial planning ability. Familiarity with public health promotion and community-based programming. Knowledge of industry-standard health and safety practices and compliance. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. IT literacy, particularly with scheduling systems and social media promotion.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 29,000.00-32,000.00 per year
