Job Description

We are seeking a Handy Person to join our accommodation team at the University of Stirling. Based on our beautiful campus in Stirling, this role is vital in maintaining the quality and safety of our facilities, ensuring an exceptional experience for students, staff, and visitors alike.

We are looking for a skilled and reliable handy person to help maintain our University accommodation. This is a full time position, 36 hours per week, 5 days over 7.

Responsibilities



Perform general maintenance and repairs across various accommodation venues. Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs. Ensure all equipment and fixtures are functioning properly. Collaborate with the facilities team to address urgent repairs. Maintain a clean and safe working environment. Support the team in delivering high standards of service. Follow health and safety regulations at all times. Supporting with space preparation within accommodation

What You'll Be Handling:



- Repairing minor damage to walls, floors, and doors
- Swapping out hard-to-reach light bulbs
- Replacing light equipment
- Fixing toilet seals and general plumbing touch-up
- Supporting with compliance (eg. water flushing)

Qualifications



Proven experience in general maintenance or maintenance person roles. Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting work. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail. Good communication skills. Flexibility to handle varied tasks.
