We are seeking a skilled and reliable Handy person/driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a diverse range of repair and maintenance skills, ensuring that properties are well-maintained and functional. This role requires a proactive individual who can work independently and efficiently, tackling various tasks that contribute to the upkeep of residential and commercial spaces. In addition to this, drive the School minibus on regular daily journeys.
Responsibilities
Perform general repairs and maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting work.
Conduct routine inspections of premises to identify issues that require attention.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests from tenants or property managers.
Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained in good working order.
Collaborate with other tradespeople as needed for larger projects.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
Keep accurate records of work completed and materials used.
Drive a school mini bus on daily regular journeys.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Handy Man or in a similar role is preferred.
Strong knowledge of various repair techniques and building systems.
Ability to read technical manuals, drawings, and blueprints.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
Good physical condition and strength to perform manual tasks.
Valid driving licence is required for driving duties including Driver (CPC) Certificate of Professional Competence for PCV (Passenger Carrying Vehicles) up to 16-Seater (D1). Driver training will be provided if this qualification is not already held.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
Shifts and Job Role:
Your role will involve early or late shifts once you begin driving. This will include two bus routes daily and allocating time for handyman tasks.
Your standard working week will be 40 hours per week, which maybe required to complete over a 7 day period, and not restricted to Monday to Friday 08.00 - 17.00 hrs.
Starting Salary - 25,396.50p/a (12.21 p/h). Upon successful completion of the CPC training, the rate will increase to 27,435.20 p/a (13.19 p/h).
Prepared to work in accordance with a weekend and on call rota when necessary.
26 days holiday plus bank holidays.
