Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and versatile Handy Man to join our team working within a residential care home environment. The ideal candidate will possess a broad range of maintenance and repair skills, with the ability to work independently and efficiently. This role requires a proactive individual who can tackle various tasks, ensuring that facilities are well-maintained and operational. The Handy Man will be responsible for performing repairs, maintenance, and installations across different areas, providing excellent customer service while adhering to safety standards.

Please note:

We have a no smoking policy within the home and grounds. All job offers are subject to acceptable reference and enhanced DBS checks (DBS costs refunded after successful probation period). This role will be based at the Whitefield care home but the successful person will be required to work at our other care home located in Bolton (reasonable traveling expenses will be paid)
Duties

Perform general maintenance tasks which may include basic plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, painting and gardening. Assemble and maintain various equipment (hospital beds, wheelchairs etc). Ensure high standards of customer service by addressing client needs promptly and professionally. Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
Experience

Proven experience in a building trade, handyman or maintenance person roles is essential. Excellent communication skills in English are required for effective interaction with clients and team members. Customer service skills are vital to ensure client satisfaction during all interactions.
