The University of Exeter is seeking an experienced and visionary Strategic Marketing Partner to join our External Engagement and Global (EEG) Directorate on a 12-month fixed term basis.

This post is available from January 2026 on a 12-month fixed-term basis and offers the opportunity for hybrid working - some time on campus and some from home. This position could be an opportunity for an internal secondment, with approval from your current line manager.

This pivotal role will act as the strategic lead for faculty-facing marketing and recruitment, driving the success of our diverse and growing portfolio of on-campus programmes.

As a Strategic Marketing Partner, you will work closely with the Faculty Executive Group and key stakeholders to shape and deliver faculty-level marketing strategies, enhance our global reputation, and enable international student growth. You will be responsible for aligning EEG service delivery--including Strategic Marketing, Student Recruitment and Admissions, Global Partnerships, Advancement, Communications, Events, and Study Abroad--with faculty priorities and performance indicators.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the development and execution of integrated, evidence-led marketing and recruitment strategies to support faculty objectives and international market growth. Collaborate with senior leaders and stakeholders to establish strategic priorities, deliver faculty-level EEG plans, and enable effective service delivery across the marketing and recruitment portfolio. Commission, interpret, and present global trend data and competitor analysis to inform market-led portfolio development and diversification. Provide actionable intelligence and insights to inform business strategy, reputation, branding, and communication (internal and external). Build and maintain robust relationships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering collaboration and alignment. Direct, motivate, and manage a high-performing team to deliver impactful, customer-focused projects. Monitor, evaluate, and report on campaign effectiveness, KPIs, and ROI, using insights to inform continuous improvement. Optimise allocated budgets through effective management and strategic procurement.

About You:

Significant experience in strategic marketing, communications, and recruitment, ideally within higher education or a similar environment. Proven leadership in developing and delivering impactful marketing strategies and plans. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and present insights clearly to diverse audiences. Excellent relationship-building, stakeholder management, and communication skills. Demonstrable experience in project management, change management, and leading teams through transformation. Educated to degree level or equivalent, with evidence of ongoing professional development.

Please ensure you read the and Person Specification for full details of this role.
