Zerodegrees is a modern, independent microbrewery City Centre Reading, brewing beers with big flavour and zero boredom.
From juicy fruit beers, hop-forward worldly IPAs to crisp lagers and rich, soulful dark ales, we're all about bold ideas, great ingredients, and beer worth talking about. 25 Years of Award-winning craft beers and we're only getting started.
Now, we're looking for an experienced, passionate Head Brewer to lead our brewing operation and help write the next chapter of the Zerodegrees story.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
You'll be the mastermind behind our restaurant microbrewery, owning the brewing process from grain to glass and dreaming up exciting new beers along the way.
You'll take full ownership of brewing operations at our
Zerodegrees brewery
, leading production, developing recipes, and making sure every pint that leaves the brewery is something we're proud to put our name on.
Your mission (should you choose to accept it):
Run the day-to-day brewhouse operations like a pro
Brew consistently brilliant beer (quality, safety, and flavour are non-negotiable)
Choose top-notch ingredients and manage suppliers
Plan brewing and purchasing schedules
Keep the kit in great shape with preventative maintenance
Create new beer styles with the management team
Fly the Zerodegrees flag at festivals and events
Pitch in wherever great beer needs making
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
You're a brewer who mixes science with creativity and leadership with teamwork.
Ideally, you'll bring:
-Proven experience as a
Head Brewer, Lead Brewer, or Senior Brewer
-At least 3 years' experience in a 15HL+ production brewery
-Strong technical knowledge of brewing, fermentation, and packaging
-Solid understanding of
HACCP, COSHH, and drinks safety systems
-Excellent organisation and leadership skills
-Hands-on, practical mindset with great attention to detail
-Passion for innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
-The ability to nail classic styles and push boundaries with new ideas
-Strong leadership skills and great communication
Nice to Have
-Formal brewing qualifications (IBD Diploma or equivalent)
-Experience in small to medium-scale brewery environments
-Knowledge of sustainable brewing practices
- Know-how in bottling and kegging (we're expanding into trade)
- Familiarity with marketing and social media as it's all about you
-Comfortable with Microsoft Office (Excel is your friend)
