We are seeking a passionate, highly organised, and creative

Head Chef

to lead our kitchen team at The Castle Edgehill. The ideal head chef will have extensive experience in high volume, quality-driven kitchens; able to maintain high standards whilst delivering outstanding guest experiences. As a head chef you'll create seasonal menus, blending classic pub fare with innovative chef-led cuisine using the freshest local ingredients.

Head Chef Responsibilities

Oversee daily kitchen operations, supervising and managing all kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation. Develop, cost, and execute seasonal menus that reflect current trends and customer preferences. Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety, and quality control in compliance with all health regulations. Manage all food stock, supplier relationships, and purchasing to ensure quality and cost efficiency. Recruit, train, and lead a team of chefs, cooks, and kitchen porters. Monitor kitchen staff performance and support ongoing training and development. Work collaboratively with FOH management to ensure a seamless service experience. Control food cost and labor budgets, reduce waste, and maximize profitability. Innovate and elevate dishes to stay competitive and relevant in the market. Lead by example in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
