Position Overview:
As the Head Chef , you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, creating innovative and delicious dishes, and maintaining our high standards of food quality. Key Responsibilities:
Develop and design a diverse menu that highlights Turkish and Mediterranean culinary traditions.
Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene.
Manage kitchen staff, including training, mentoring, and scheduling to ensure optimal team performance.
Monitor inventory and order supplies to maintain efficient kitchen operations.
Collaborate with management to implement cost control measures and maintain budgetary guidelines.
Stay current with culinary trends and ensure the kitchen adheres to food safety regulations.
Foster a positive and productive work environment that encourages creativity and teamwork.
Requirements:
Proven Experience in Turkish Cuisine:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a kitchen focused on Turkish or Mediterranean cuisine, demonstrating a strong understanding of traditional cooking techniques and flavor profiles.
Culinary Skills:
Skilled in preparing a variety of Turkish dishes, including appetizers (mezze), main courses (kebabs, adana, stews), and desserts (baklava, kunefe), with attention to authenticity and presentation.
Kitchen Management Experience:
For leadership positions, previous experience managing kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluation.
High-Volume Service Experience:
Experience in fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environments, ensuring that food quality is maintained during peak times.
Knowledge of Food Safety Standards:
Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices to ensure a clean and safe kitchen environment.
Menu Development Experience (for Head Chef roles):
Previous involvement in menu planning and development, demonstrating creativity and the ability to adapt to seasonal ingredients.
Customer Service Focus:
A strong understanding of customer service in a dining context, with the ability to create a positive dining experience.
Adaptability and Teamwork:
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and adapt to the dynamic demands of a busy restaurant.
Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar leadership role in a busy kitchen.
Strong knowledge of Turkish and Mediterranean cuisine, with a passion for creating authentic dishes.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices.
A creative mindset with a focus on delivering exceptional dining experiences.
What We Offer:
Competitive annual salary of 41,000, plus an average service charge of 7,000.
