is seeking an

Ad Hoc Head Chef

to lead kitchen operations, with the potential for the role to become permanent for the right candidate.

About the Venue

Set in the heart of the Ashdown Forest, this prestigious private members' golf club is renowned not only for its championship courses, but also for its

warm hospitality and high-quality food offering

. The kitchen supports a variety of service styles, including day-to-day member dining, private events, golf days, and seasonal functions.

The Role

As Head Chef, you will:

Lead and inspire a small kitchen team Maintain high standards of food preparation, presentation, and hygiene Oversee all aspects of kitchen management, stock control, and ordering Design and deliver seasonal menus tailored to members' expectations and event needs Ensure smooth operation during both service and functions

What We're Looking For

Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef ready to step up Passion for fresh, high-quality ingredients and traditional British cuisine Ability to work independently and manage all aspects of a small kitchen Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills Flexibility to work ad hoc shifts initially (with reasonable notice) Desire to become part of a long-term team, with permanent employment available for the right person

Approx. 40k salary, approx. 2k annual bonus + possible live in support.

Job Type: Freelance

Pay: 20.00-23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1 - 45 per week
