We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Head Chef who is full of ideas and able to put their own stamp on menu design, championing local food including game. They will lead a brand-new kitchen in a fully refurbished, family-owned destination pub. The pub is well-supported with a good client base throughout the year, including the shooting season.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for food production, ensuring that all dishes meet our high standards of quality and presentation. As Head Chef, you will be responsible for supervising kitchen operations, managing staff, and maintaining food safety protocols while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Duties
Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient food production and service.
Develop and design innovative menus that reflect current and traditional culinary trends, championing local food including game.
Supervise and train kitchen staff, promoting teamwork and professional development.
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations.
Monitor inventory levels, ordering supplies as needed to ensure uninterrupted service.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
Implement cost control measures to optimise kitchen efficiency without compromising quality.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and food safety practices.
Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse kitchen team.
Exceptional organisational skills with attention to detail in both food preparation and presentation.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure.
A passion for cooking with creativity in menu development and presentation.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
