Salute at The White Swan is a busy, independent, local restaurant, based in Rothwell, just outside Leeds City Center, is looking for a Head Chef to join the team Serving Italian Style cuisine, using authentic Italian produce, this really is one of Leeds's finest Italian restaurants. We are looking to recruit a Head Chef with a passion for Italian cuisine. Who is able to work in a fast paced, high-volume venue and be a calming influence when the pressure is on. You must have previous experience in this role and knowledge of costing menus and keeping to strict budgets. You must be fully up to speed with all health and safety regulations. We are looking for someone who will lead from the front, be passionate and guide the rest of the team to be the best they can be.

Responsibilities

Supervise and manage kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality food preparation. Oversee all aspects of food production, including menu planning, ingredient sourcing, and presentation. Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment in compliance with food safety regulations. Lead by example in cooking techniques and food preparation methods to inspire the team. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction. Train, mentor, and develop junior chefs and kitchen staff to enhance their skills and performance. Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed to maintain operational efficiency. Implement new recipes and menu items while maintaining consistency in taste and presentation. Ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality before serving.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar culinary leadership role within a restaurant setting. Strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and culinary arts. Demonstrated ability to manage a team effectively while fostering a collaborative work environment. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in both food production and kitchen management. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality. Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with both kitchen staff and front-of-house teams. Passion for creating innovative dishes that reflect current culinary trends.
