We're Rubar Cafe, a newly opened, independent, family-run spot tucked by the river in beautiful Greenwich. With lovely views and a cosy, welcoming atmosphere, our cafe is all about good coffee, fresh brunch, and feel-good food with Mediterranean roots.
We're now looking for a Head Chef to lead our kitchen and be part of building something special from the very beginning. This is more than just a job, it's a chance to bring your creativity, shape the menu, and grow alongside a team that truly cares.
About You:
You've worked as a Head Chef or strong Sous Chef in a quality cafe, brunch kitchen, or casual dining space
You're passionate about fresh, seasonal ingredients and cooking with love
You're organised, reliable, and comfortable running a small kitchen team
You know how to cost dishes, manage stock, and keep things running smoothly
You bring a calm, positive energy to the kitchen - and you're a natural problem-solver
You're excited by the idea of helping shape a new cafe and growing with us
What You'll Be Doing:
Leading day-to-day kitchen operations
Designing and evolving our menu (brunch, lunch, specials)
Maintaining high hygiene and food safety standards
Training and supporting kitchen team members
Working closely with ownership on planning, ordering and systems
Bringing a positive and professional vibe to the heart of the cafe
What We Offer:
42,000 - 48,000 salary, depending on experience

A bit about our food:
Our menu is a fresh and vibrant mix - from Mediterranean breakfasts, traditional English and vegan brunches to dishes like Eggs Royale, Chicken Schnitzel, Sea Bass, Falafel plates, and gourmet wraps and burgers. We serve sweet brunch treats like pancakes, French toast and waffles, along with popular starters like Halloumi Fritto, feta pastries and calamari. We're also looking to introduce pasta dishes soon, so there's plenty of room for creativity!
