We are seeking a talented and experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and oversee all aspects of food production and preparation. The candidate must possess strong culinary skills, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to manage a team effectively. As Head Chef, you will be responsible for creating menus, ensuring food safety standards are met, and delivering exceptional dining experiences for our guests.
Responsibilities
Manage kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment
Oversee food production processes to ensure high-quality dishes are prepared consistently
Develop and design creative menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and culinary trends
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen
Train and mentor kitchen staff in cooking techniques, food preparation, and presentation
Collaborate with management to optimise kitchen operations and improve efficiency
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary
Maintain high standards of food presentation and taste in all dishes served
Requirements
Minimum 2-years of proven experience as a Head Chef in a busy restaurant
Strong management experience with the ability to lead, teach and drive your team
Extensive knowledge of food production techniques and culinary practices
Excellent cooking skills with a passion for creating exceptional dishes
Full understanding of UK food safety regulations and best kitchen practices
A detailed understanding of menu costing and budgeting
Previous experience in menu development is a must
Good vendor network and reputation around the city of Manchester
Experience in time management of your department and their schedules
Strong leadership qualities with clear and excellent communication skills
Possess the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Understanding the importance of absolute consistency in procedural standards
