We are seeking a talented and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen team in delivering exceptional culinary experiences. The ideal candidate will possess a wealth of culinary knowledge and experience, with a strong emphasis on food production, preparation, and safety. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, managing staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation.
Duties
Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff to ensure efficient food production and service.
Develop and implement menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
Oversee food preparation processes to maintain quality and consistency in all dishes served.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean, organised kitchen environment.
Train and mentor kitchen staff in cooking techniques, food safety practices, and hospitality standards.
Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during busy periods.
Lead by example in demonstrating exceptional culinary skills and a commitment to excellence.
Skills
Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment.
Strong background in food production and preparation techniques.
Excellent team management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate staff.
Extensive culinary experience with a passion for cooking and creativity in menu design.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for maintaining hygiene standards.
Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable, preferably in a leadership role within the hospitality industry.
Strong leadership qualities with the ability to make decisions under pressure.
