Job Overview



The Crown Inn is located in a very pretty village and has recently undertaken an extensive and stunning refurbishment and now it's time to bring in a Head Chef who shares our same ambitions to grow the business. We have very discerning customers who want quality food but sensibly priced. We are looking to offer some pub classics produced fresh and with the finest ingredients but we also want to present top notch steaks, seafood and top end 'weekly specials'.

Are you an established Head Chef who's ready for a change or an ambitious and talented Sous Chef ready to take the next step ? if 'yes' then we are interested !

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food preparation, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and presentation. This role offers an exciting opportunity to craft innovative menus, manage kitchen operations, and deliver exceptional dining experiences. The Head Chef will play a pivotal role in maintaining the reputation of our establishment through leadership, creativity, and dedication.

Duties



Lead and supervise the kitchen team, ensuring efficient workflow and high standards of food production Develop and design innovative menus that align with current culinary trends and customer preferences Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and excellence Manage inventory, order supplies, and control food costs to optimise operational efficiency Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards across the kitchen Train and mentor junior staff to enhance their skills in food preparation, cooking, and service Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery Monitor customer feedback and implement improvements to enhance overall dining experience Organise staff rotas and manage labour costs effectively

Requirements



Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen environment Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food production and restaurant operations Demonstrable team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse team Proficiency in food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen organisation Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations (HACCP certification preferred) Previous hospitality or restaurant experience at a senior level is essential Excellent leadership qualities combined with strong organisational skills Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail Passion for innovation in cuisine with a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 28,000.00-32,000.00 per year
