Job Summary

Restaurant Six is a small, intimate dining venue on the high street of a busy market town.
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to deliver exceptional culinary experiences. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food production and preparation. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, ensuring food safety standards are met, and creating a menu that reflects our commitment to quality and hospitality.

Duties

Develop, design, implement and execute innovative menus that showcase seasonal ingredients and culinary trends. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean, organised kitchen. Train and mentor kitchen staff in cooking techniques, food preparation, and presentation. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery. Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed. Maintain high standards of hygiene and sanitation throughout the kitchen.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar culinary leadership role within the restaurant industry. Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations. Excellent cooking skills with a passion for food preparation and presentation. Demonstrated ability to manage a team effectively, providing leadership and motivation. Previous experience in hospitality is highly desirable. Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with both kitchen and front-of-house teams. A culinary qualification or relevant experience is preferred but not essential.
