Overview

We are seeking a talented and experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team in delivering exceptional culinary experiences. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food production and kitchen management, demonstrating excellent leadership skills and a passion for hospitality. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained.

Responsibilities

Supervise and manage kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure consistency and quality in all dishes served. Develop and implement menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences. Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations. Train and mentor kitchen staff in culinary techniques, food safety practices, and efficient kitchen operations. Collaborate with management to optimise food costs while maintaining quality standards. Ensure proper inventory management, including ordering supplies and minimising waste. Lead by example in cooking techniques, presentation, and service standards to inspire the team.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar leadership role within a restaurant/hotel environment. Strong culinary skills with extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods. Demonstrated experience in supervising kitchen staff and managing team dynamics effectively. Solid understanding of food safety regulations and best practices within the hospitality industry. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team. Previous experience in menu development and cost control is advantageous.
