Are you an experienced chef looking for your next challenge? OEC Sheffield is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Head Chef to lead our fast-paced banqueting, conference, and events kitchen.
We're looking for someone with the drive, leadership, and creativity to take the reins of a kitchen you can truly make your own. You'll have the opportunity to recruit, train, and shape your team, and play a key role in the continued success of our vibrant venue.
Our food is inspired by global influences, but always firstly rooted in quality, flavour, and presentation. If you're passionate about cooking at scale for numbers of up to 450 and without compromising on excellence, this is the job for you.
What You'll Be Responsible For:
Leading the kitchen operation to ensure food is prepared and presented to the highest standard
Collaborating with management, executive chef, front-of-house, and events teams for smooth service delivery
Maintaining exceptional levels of food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness
Recruiting, training, and developing your kitchen brigade
Ensuring full compliance with FSA, HSE, and EHO regulations
Implementing and maintaining HACCP procedures and documentation including allergen information.
Managing stock control, food costs, and reducing wastage
Scheduling rotas aligned to business needs and budget set by the general manager.
What We're Looking For:
A minimum of 4 years' experience in a senior kitchen role in a similar high-volume, fresh food operation
Strong knowledge of kitchen management, compliance, and financial control
A team player who can also work independently and take initiative
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
