The Cock Pub is a well-established and popular establishment located in Whaley Bridge. We take great pride in offering freshly prepared, high-quality traditional pub fare. Our commitment is to provide guests with delicious food in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Chef to take the lead in our kitchen team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in helping us uphold and further build our fantastic reputation for excellent food and hospitality.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee all kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation, ensuring each dish meets our standards of quality.
Manage inventory control and guarantee that all food handling practices adhere to the highest standards.
Supervise kitchen staff, providing leadership and training to maintain high levels of performance and professionalism within the team.
Work in coordination with the dietary department to accommodate special dietary requirements and preferences of our guests.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment at all times.
Monitor all food production processes to uphold quality standards while optimising efficiency within the kitchen.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during both events and regular dining hours.
Manage catering operations for special events, making sure that all aspects of food service are executed to the highest standard.
Conduct regular inventory assessments to manage supplies effectively and prevent shortages or wastage.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar setting, demonstrating leadership and expertise in kitchen management.
Strong leadership skills, with a background in team supervision and shift management.
Extensive knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices relating to food handling.
Excellent cooking skills, with attention to detail and consistency.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
Strong communication skills, with a particular emphasis on hospitality and guest satisfaction.
