Coffee Lounge 44 is an exciting new coffee lounge opening soon, transforming a former pub into a stylish and welcoming community space. As part of this fresh venture, we are looking for a passionate and creative Chef to join our founding team.
This role offers a unique opportunity to lead the development of our breakfast and lunch offerings. The ideal candidate will have the freedom to design a menu that reflects their creativity and culinary flair. Key Responsibilities:
Create and develop a fresh, appealing breakfast and lunch menu
Prepare and present dishes to a high standard
Maintain excellent hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety standards in the kitchen
Manage kitchen stock, including ordering and rotation of ingredients
Work collaboratively with the wider team to support smooth day-to-day operations
Ensure allergen management and dietary requirements are properly handled
Help establish and build a positive kitchen culture and kitchen team of staff
Essential Criteria:
Valid Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to complete)
Allergen awareness training (or willingness to complete)
Passion for food and strong culinary skills
Ability to work independently and take initiative
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Willingness to obtain a basic DBS check
Desirable Criteria:
Previous experience as a chef or cook in a cafe, bistro, or similar setting
Menu development experience
Understanding of dietary trends and customer preferences
Knowledge of kitchen health and safety protocols
Ability to adapt in a new and evolving work environment
