Are you a passionate, creative and talented chef looking for a fantastic new challenge?

The Cow Shed is seeking a strong Head Chef/Kitchen Manager to help us maintain our presence as one of the 'go to' places on Worthing seafront for high quality American-style street food - all cooked from fresh, locally-sourced suppliers.

Your leadership will be key in fostering a positive kitchen environment and ensuring smooth operations, with duties including cost control, rota and wage control, supplier management and maintaining high EHO cleanliness standards. As an independent business, you will have direct input into menu ideas and promotions without having to go through the hoops with a corporate.

Responsibilities

Lead the kitchen team in preparing high-quality street-food for our customers Develop and design menu items that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen. Train, supervise, and mentor kitchen staff to enhance their skills and performance. Manage inventory levels, ordering supplies as needed to minimize waste. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during busy periods.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Head Chef - or a strong Sous looking for their first kitchen Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively. Excellent culinary skills with a passion for food preparation and presentation. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in the kitchen. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
