The Opportunity:

We are looking for an experienced

Head Cook / Chef

to lead our kitchen team, taking ownership of meal planning and preparation while upholding the highest food hygiene standards. In this role, you will mentor and guide our existing cook, fostering teamwork and maintaining an environment of respect and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and prepare nutritious, traditional meals for our residents and staff, including accommodating special dietary needs and food consistencies. Lead and mentor the kitchen team, setting clear expectations and fostering a collaborative environment. Maintain excellent food hygiene and kitchen safety standards. Manage inventory, monitor food supplies, and ensure cost-effective ordering. Engage with residents to understand their preferences and enhance their dining experience.

About You:

We are seeking a passionate and skilled professional who can take our kitchen to the next level. The ideal candidate will have:

Proven experience in a leadership role in a kitchen environment. A genuine interest in working with older people and creating meals they'll enjoy. Strong communication and leadership skills to guide and inspire the team. A proactive approach to problem-solving and teamwork. Excellent food hygiene skills and relevant certifications (e.g., Food Hygiene Level 2 or above).
