Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Cook to lead our culinary team. This role involves overseeing food preparation, ensuring high standards of food safety, and maintaining a seamless kitchen operation. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in culinary arts, restaurant experience, and excellent leadership skills to motivate and manage staff effectively.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise the kitchen team to ensure efficient food preparation and service Oversee all aspects of meal preparation, including cooking and plating, maintaining consistency and quality Develop and implement menu ideas in collaboration with the management team Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times Manage inventory, order supplies, and control stock levels to minimise waste Train new staff members on kitchen procedures, safety protocols, and customer service standards Monitor kitchen operations during service hours to optimise workflow and resolve any issues promptly Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in accordance with health regulations Take over other responsibilities whilst restaurant is quiet such as washing up and taking inventory

Skills

Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management Strong culinary skills with knowledge of diverse cuisines and meal presentation techniques Extensive restaurant experience with an understanding of food safety standards Excellent leadership abilities to motivate and manage a team effectively Good organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene management Effective communication skills to liaise with staff and management seamlessly Previous experience in serving or customer-facing roles is advantageous but not essential

Pay: From 12.21 per hour
