Key Responsibilities - Head Cook Jobs in Education Catering

Oversee the preparation, cooking, and serving of nutritious, balanced meals for students and staff. Lead and motivate a team of kitchen staff to deliver high-quality food service. Ensure strict compliance with food hygiene, allergen, and health & safety regulations. Manage kitchen rotas, ordering, and inventory control efficiently. What We're Looking For - Temp Head Cook Skills & Requirements

Proven experience in a cook, lead cook, or head chef role, preferably in a school or similar contract catering environment.

Level 2 Food Hygiene

and

Allergen Awareness

certification (essential). Current

DBS certificate

(registered on Update Service or issued within last 12 months, essential). Two up-to-date professional references (recent employment required). Demonstrable ability to lead kitchen teams and manage kitchen operations. Strong organizational, communication, and record-keeping skills. Safeguarding certification (preferred but not essential, relevant to schools/education). Adaptable, professional, and reliable approach.
