Key responsibilities & duties: Patient Care
Greet and support all patients in a polite, professional and welcoming manner
Ensure an efficient, calm and positive front-of-house experience
Maintain patient confidentiality and data protection at all times
Act as a senior point of contact for patient enquiries, concerns and complaints
Inform clinicians and management of any delays or issues
Promote a professional image of the practice at all times
People
Lead, support and supervise the reception team
Encourage effective teamwork and communication
Liaise closely with dentists, nurses, hygienists and management
Provide training, guidance and ongoing support to the reception team
Reception & Administration
Oversee the day-to-day running of the reception area
Manage complex clinician diaries, appointments and treatment bookings
Ensure patient records, billing and treatment plans are accurate and up to date
Confident use of dental software, IT systems and administrative processes
Provide feedback and operational support to the management team
Business Focus
Be aware of the Company business strategy
Support efficient use of appointment time and resources
Maintain high standards of organisation and professionalism
Contribute positively to practice performance and patient satisfaction
Environment
Ensure reception, waiting areas and communal areas are kept tidy and hazard-free
Adhere to Health & Safety requirements at all times
Report any issues or concerns promptly to the Practice Manager
Work experience and skills:
Previous dental reception experience essential
Leadership or supervisory experience desirable
Friendly, courteous and welcoming disposition
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Confident working in a busy clinical environment
Undertakes CPD where appropriate
