Job summary
As the Head Coach of Active Gym, your primary responsibilities will be to confidently lead our coaching team in the planning and delivery of our gymnastics programmes, ensuring a fun, safe, engaging and educational environment for all participants. You will continuously evaluate our programmes and schedules to develop our club and enhance what we offer to our gymnasts. You will review and apply appropriate health and safety requirements where necessary and will ensure that the club operates inside British Gymnastics guidelines.
You will take ownership of our coaching team and will lead them in their development in-line with Active Gym's goals and vision. You will work closely will your coaching team and will demonstrate yourself to be an enthusiastic and engaging leader with the ability to inspire others.

Duties
Supervise and support the coaching of gymnastics and the duties of the coaching team.
Lead the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of gymnastics programmes at Active Gym.
Demonstrate leadership qualities and inspire the coaching team.
Work with the Director to achieve initiatives that align with the club's vision.
Take an active coaching role and personally deliver gymnastics sessions weekly, including a regular coaching timetable and covering absent coaches when required.
Coordinate and deliver the Active Gym's gymnast award schemes.
Work with the coaching team to identify gymnasts as candidates to transition across programmes and groupings.
Ensure safety is paramount in sessions by overseeing that all equipment, working areas and skills are safe, including checking equipment is stable and well-matted.
Continuously safeguard gymnasts and coaches at the club, both inside and outside of session times.
Act as the first-aid lead.
Prepare for further development through CPD and put forward members of the coaching team for potential CPD opportunities.
Design and administer employee training programmes for the coaching team.
Support the induction, training and development of new coaches.
Compose work schedules and day-to-day staffing requests and requirements, including arranging cover if needed on a weekly basis for all sessions.
Uphold the standard of the club by being patient, respectful and approachable when interacting with customers, children and colleagues.
Manage concerns or issues raised with assistance from the Director where required.
Provide a positive, enthusiastic and engaging role model across all areas of responsibility.
Take an active approach in developing coaching knowledge by keeping up with current affairs related to gymnastics, coaching and child development and bring new ideas and coaching developments into the club.
Be flexible and perform other reasonable duties in-line with the club's needs.
Hold and maintain competence in an administrative capacity including using Microsoft products, video chat, telephone and email.
Read and follow the policies and procedures of the club at all times (included in welcome pack).
Requirements
British Gymnastics General Gymnastics Level 2 Award or equivalent.
Experience inspiring, motivating and managing a coaching team.
Experience inspiring, motivating and managing different levels and ages of gymnasts from ages 1-13 and beginner to intermediate level.
An enthusiastic and positive attitude.
Strong communication skills with the ability to educate and motivate young athletes.
A passion for gymnastics and/or working with children.
Effective communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
Ability to work outside of typical working hours, including evenings and weekends.
Flexibility to cover additional sessions where required e.g. holiday camps.
Enhanced DBS check and willingness to add to the online Update Service.
Relevant safeguarding, child protection and first-aid qualifications or willingness to undertake qualifications.
