We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Housekeeper to join our team in a care home environment that provides quality care for older adults. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation. As the Head Housekeeper, you will oversee the housekeeping department, ensuring that all areas of the home meet our exceptional standards of care.
Duties
Supervise and coordinate daily housekeeping operations, including supervising domestic and laundry staff, ensuring duties are carried out to a high standard at all times.
Ensure cleaning routines for each domestic area are allocated appropriately and monitor the quality and standard of work in conjunction with management.
Conduct regular inspections of residents rooms, public areas, and laundry facilities to ensure a high standard of cleanliness and adherence to policies and procedures is maintained at all times.
Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary to maintain adequate stock levels.
Develop and implement cleaning procedures that enhance efficiency while ensuring compliance with Health and Safety and COSHH regulations.
Address issues and concerns promptly and professionally, striving for quick resolution.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery throughout the home.
Hold housekeeping staff meetings to ensure good communication.
Maintain records of housekeeping activities, including staff performance evaluations, maintenance requests and periodical audits.
Complete all online mandatory training assigned to your role within the specified time.
Skills required:
Previous experience in a supervisory position is essential, with a strong understanding of how to motivate and lead a staff team and provide guidance and direction to housekeeping staff.
Proven janitorial experience with a good knowledge of cleaning products, techniques, and equipment in respect of COSHH and Health and Safety standards.
Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Strong leadership capabilities with excellent communication skills.
A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
Proficient in English both written and verbal communication skills.
