Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Head Housekeeper to lead our housekeeping team in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hospitality within our establishment. We have 19 ensuite rooms, plus communal areas and a bar/restaurant to clean. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a housekeeping department, at a supervisory/managerial level, exceptional organisational skills, and a commitment to providing outstanding service to our guests. Hours are 8am to 4pm, 5 days a week and will include weekends.

Duties

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the housekeeping department, ensuring all areas are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards. Train, supervise, and motivate housekeeping staff to perform their duties effectively. Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities to ensure cleanliness and adherence to company standards. Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary to ensure adequate stock levels. Develop and implement cleaning schedules that optimise efficiency while meeting guest expectations. Address any guest complaints or concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring a positive experience for all visitors. Collaborate with other departments to coordinate special requests or events that require additional housekeeping support.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality environment is essential. Strong housekeeping experience with a keen eye for detail in cleaning practices. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a team effectively. Exceptional organisational skills with the capacity to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact positively with guests and staff alike. A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
