As Head Housekeeper you will be responsible of leading the housekeeping team and being a key member of the Hotel's Management team. You will display a proactive and innovative approach to skill development and enhancement in your team while accurately assessing needs of the business in terms of staffing and ensure that a high standard of cleanliness is maintained and monitored throughout the hotel. Finally, you will co-ordinate constructively with both reception and reservations so that the day-to-day operational requirements are successfully delivered.

Responsibilities
1 To keep yourself informed of the hotel goals and objectives and those of other departments.
2 To direct and supervise the activities of the Housekeeping Department, ensuring high standards of cleanliness are maintained throughout and our guest's needs are met. Undertake cleaning of rooms as required and Duty Management shifts.
3 To ensure all cleaning materials and guest supplies are adequate, stored, controlled and used efficiently at all times.
4 To be involved in the allocation and inspection of deep cleaning of rooms on a regular basis.
5 To report maintenance requirements arising in your areas of work immediately.
6 To be fully aware of and adhere to security procedures laid down by the hotel and company. This to include security of equipment, keys, cleaning materials, lost property and other property.
7 To communicate openly and effectively at all levels.
8 To produce costed staff rosters ensuring effective staffing levels reflect budgeted targets.
9 To lead and motivate all members of the Housekeeping Department in order to encourage and obtain maximum commitment.
10 To ensure on all occasions you observe safe and hygienic working practices in order to satisfy Health and Safety at work and other statutory legislation.
11 Attend training when required and undertake department training with new starts.
12 To be fully aware of and adhere to Health and Safety and fire procedures.
This cannot be exhaustive due to the peculiar requirements of the hotel industry. Therefore, the job holder may be required from time to time to carry out tasks requested by the Management.
