Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Head of Care to lead our team in providing exceptional care within our care home. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality senior care, ensuring that all residents receive personalised care plans tailored to their individual needs. This role requires strong leadership skills, effective communication, and a passion for enhancing the lives of our residents.

Responsibilities

Drive the overall management and operational effectiveness of the care home, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices. Supervise and support care staff, fostering a positive work environment that encourages professional development and teamwork. Communicate effectively with residents and families to ensure transparency and satisfaction with care services. Support the Nursing Team to create individual care plans in collaboration with residents and their families to meet specific needs and preferences. Maintain accurate records of resident care and ensure that all IT systems are utilised effectively for documentation purposes. Lead regular training sessions for staff to enhance skills in senior care practices and promote continuous improvement in service delivery. Monitor the quality of care provided, conducting audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement. Produce an effective 4-weekly care rota that covers the needs of the business and adheres to budgetary restraints.

Requirements

Must have NVQ level 3 or equivalent Experience in Safeguarding/CQC Audits Must have completed a Care certificate Experience in care plan production/management. Experience of rota management Experience of medication management Experience of the recruitment process including conducting interviews and inducting new starters into the business. Proven moving and handling training or happy to complete training to become a trainer Experience in completing Supervisions and Appraisals
