CJCH Solicitors is a dynamic, award-winning law firm with offices across South Wales, including Cardiff, Swansea, Barry, Bridgend, Blackwood, and Caerphilly.

As part of our strategic growth and modernisation, we are seeking an experienced and ambitious legal professional to lead and elevate our Commercial Property Department.

The Role

As Head of Commercial Property, you will be at the forefront of one of the firm's most strategically significant practice areas.

This role offers the autonomy and authority to lead a department, with direct input into the firm's wider direction.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and develop the Commercial Property team, setting vision, structure, and performance standards. Manage a caseload of high-value and complex commercial property matters. Drive new business development and foster key client relationships, both regionally and nationally. Contribute to firm-wide strategic initiatives as part of the senior leadership team. Mentor junior solicitors and build a collaborative, high-performing team culture. Represent CJCH at industry events, professional forums, and networking opportunities.

What We're Looking For

A Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with 8+ years PQE in commercial property law. A strong commercial acumen and entrepreneurial approach to department growth. A successful track record in leadership, business development, and client retention. Deep technical expertise across a full range of commercial property transactions. Confidence in working independently and presenting at board level. A strategic thinker with the ability to manage performance and financial targets.

Location & Working Style

Base: Cardiff HQ (private office and car park provided) Hybrid flexibility: Office-based presence required for supervision and leadership, with hybrid options available Travel: Occasional travel to other CJCH offices as needed
