About the role
We're now looking for a Head of Commercial to be a key member of the Evolve senior team. The new Head of Commercial will support Evolve Director of Finance, Riverside Property Services (RPS) & Evolve Directors in the strategic integration of Evolve and RPS into a national delivery model.
Evolve Facility Services has premises across the UK, and on this basis, there will be the requirement to travel to other locations to effectively perform this role. The role will be initially located in London and the Central Region.
In order to fulfil the requirements of this role, you will be required to work flexibly during the hours of operation. and hold a current, valid UK driving licence.
Other accountabilities:
Formulate and monitor the delivery of the annual Business Plan. This will include reporting on RPS commercial delivery activities against budget requirements and reviewing the suitability and efficacy of the budget management process, including financial forecasting.
Establish, monitor and report on high level financial / commercial key performance indicators and improvement targets. Ensure that financial / commercial performance is reported consistently and owned by relevant teams / team members, addressing any underperformance and improvements required.
Analyse data and management information to review financial performance, present reports and updates to senior stakeholders, including the Director of Finance and Evolve & RPS Senior Team Members. Including strategies to improve financial / commercial underperformance.
Develop, implement and monitor financial / commercial performance reporting across RPS including productivity and efficiency monitoring of the direct workforce. Identify and remove blockers to successful commercial delivery by facilitating decision making.
Work closely with the Evolve Finance Director, Evolve & RPS Directors and Senior Leaders across RPS, Evolve, Asset Services and wider TRG.
Develop and maintain relationships with senior business stream leads / mangers and other key stakeholders to ensure ongoing effective commercial delivery, acting as focal point in relation to the financial / commercial performance of RPS service delivery including dealing with and resolving escalated issues and financial related matters.
Work closely with the RPS & Evolve Operational Teams to ensure works are delivered to standards, timescales and budgets. This will include working with various colleagues / teams from across the business to understand their priorities, ensure that deliverables meet their needs, priorities and quality expectations.
Lead and support the commercial team in ensuring that sub-contractor and supply chain arrangements are managed effectively.
What we're looking for
Proven experience of leading a financial / commercial function within a large and regionally diverse operational environment within similar industry repairs and maintenance, utilities, construction etc) stock profile.
In-depth knowledge of financial/commercial systems and processes.
Strong knowledge of month-end processes in a large corporate business
Experience of effective financial / commercial supply chain management.
Understanding of the principles of data integrity and data quality.
Experience of successfully leading, managing and motivating teams, including managing team performance.
Results driven with strong analytical skills, including the ability to critically analyse complex information, and experience of providing meaningful management information.
Commercially aware with a focus on continuous improvement and the ability to drive change.
Experience of working on large-scale projects within a complex multi-site organisation.
Experience of successfully managing large scale budgets in line with agreed financial protocols.
Thorough understanding of financial risk management.
Customer focused with excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work at all levels within the business.
Evidence of using sound judgement when making effective decisions.
Evidence of effective senior stakeholder management, both internally and external to the organisation, and the ability to successfully persuade and influence others.
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure, deliver to strict deadlines and manage conflicting priorities.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
Qualification Requirements
Degree (or equivalent) qualification in a relevant subject.
A relevant qualification in finance or accounting is preferred but not essential (e.g. CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
