Summary

A highly respected private investment firm with a diverse portfolio of luxury hotels worldwide, including renowned resorts and prestigious accommodations. Seeking a talented and experienced Head of Design to lead the in-house design team, oversee the workflow and manage the coordination with external design studios. You will be responsible for the successful execution of all design projects, from initial meetings to final implementation, working closely with project managers, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.

Job description:

  • Lead and inspire the small in-house design team, fostering a creative and collaborative environment that encourages innovation and excellence.
  • Manage the workflow of the design team, ensuring efficient project execution and timely delivery of design assets.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with external design studios, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring a smooth design process.
  • Attend initial meetings with project stakeholders to gain a deep understanding of design briefs, project requirements, and objectives.
  • Collaborate with project managers to develop design concepts, providing expert guidance and advice throughout the design process.
  • Liaise with consultants, contractors, and suppliers to ensure effective communication and alignment with design goals.
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered to the agreed quality and design standards, consistently exceeding guest expectations.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor and ensure quality control, identifying opportunities for improvement and addressing any design-related issues promptly.
Skills necessary:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s or Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Design, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing design teams, preferably in the luxury hospitality or real estate industry.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully delivering high-quality design projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong understanding of design principles, trends, and best practices, with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.
  • Proficient in design software and tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Strong project management abilities, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Willingness to travel to various hotel locations worldwide as required.
  • Have a passion for luxury design and the world of leading hotels.
