Hard To Find Whisky is an established specialist Whisky, Spirits and Champagne retailer operating a high volume e-commerce platform alongside a flagship physical store.
We compete directly with much larger national and international retailers through range depth, operational discipline, and strong commercial execution. This role exists to strengthen and scale our digital acquisition capability in-house.
The Role
We are hiring a permanently on-site Head of Digital Acquisition to take ownership of SEO, Google Ads, and paid social performance.
This is a hands-on role for someone who has already operated within an e-commerce business and understands how acquisition connects to margin, stock, and operational reality.
You will work closely with directors and internal teams and will be expected to execute as well as plan.
Key Responsibilities
SEO (Primary Focus)
Own and execute the SEO strategy across technical, on-page, content, and structure
Identify and fix technical SEO issues (architecture, crawlability, indexing, CWV)
Build and implement a commercial keyword and content strategy
Improve organic visibility for revenue, driving categories and products
Google Ads & Paid Search
Manage and optimise Google Ads (Search, Shopping, Performance Max where appropriate)
Improve campaign structure, efficiency, and control
Actively manage budgets, bids, feeds, and negative keywords
Reduce wasted spend and improve acquisition efficiency
Paid Social
Manage paid social campaigns with a clear focus on customer acquisition
Work with internal assets to test creative and messaging
Treat social as a performance channel, not an engagement exercise
Analytics & Reporting
Track and report on acquisition performance across all channels
Use GA4, Search Console, and ad platforms to inform decisions
Provide clear, commercially relevant reporting to directors
Focus on outcomes, not vanity metrics
Required Experience
This role is not suitable for junior marketers.
You should have:
Experience working within a large e-commerce business (or equivalent scale)
Hands-on responsibility for SEO and paid acquisition channels
Practical experience managing meaningful paid media budgets
A commercial mindset and understanding of margins and efficiency
The ability to work autonomously in an on-site environment
