The role
As we continue to grow in size, scale and complexity, we\'re looking for an experienced finance professional to join our Finance function at Checkout.com. Your work will be instrumental in building and leading our reconciliation efforts to deliver financial information in an automated, scalable and well controlled manner and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
This role provides an excellent platform for a finance leader looking to step into a transformational role within a FinTech and take a hands-on role in building a strong foundation for financial operations and reporting within Checkout.com

How you\'ll make an impact

  • Be the operational owner of our Finance reconciliations and reporting roadmap, focussing on improving the confidence and trust in our financial data and reporting.
  • Build and execute BAU reconciliation processes, controls requirements, thresholds and criteria required to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Review and challenge the control outputs with a focus on identifying discrepancies, find appropriate solutions and initiate corrective actions.
  • Identify problems that need solving, remove blockers and influence the broader finance teams to complete the roadmap.
  • Use deep understanding of financial accounting, reporting and control requirements to ensure our processes and controls are robust and will meet audit requirements.
  • Effectively partner with broader finance function, particularly system architects on process redesign and implementation of tactical as well as long term solutions.
  • Actively work on improving data integrity and quality, automation, strengthening of controls, operational and reporting efficiency.
  • Bring external ideas, standard processes and thought leadership on financial accounting and reconciliations to guide the team on future plans.
  • Drive the transformation from contracting/interim support to more permanent, structured, growth stage teams and play a key role in the associated planning, hiring and road-mapping required.
  • Build and lead a global team with a diverse set of skills and support their ongoing development to fulfil their potential within their roles.
  • Provide clarity and assurance to key stakeholders on the status of the team\'s outputs and activities.
Qualifications

What we\'re looking for
  • Professional finance qualification such as the ACA or equivalent with significant post qualification experience, and practical knowledge of IFRS and general accounting principles.
  • Deep knowledge and expertise on financial accounting, reporting, reconciliations and controls experience ideally within a listed environment or large complex company.
  • Strong people leader with a track record of success in scaling and leading globally dispersed teams with varied skills/experience
  • Driven transformational projects from contracting/interim support to more permanent, structured, growth stage teams and played a key role in the associated planning, hiring and road-mapping required.
  • Proven experience in working with cross functional teams to deliver robust financial operational/reporting processes.
  • Taking ownership to do whatever needs doing to tackle problems.
  • Experience in delivering process changes in finance teams and experience working with Finance system or change teams is highly desirable
