Job Description

Parry & Evans Ltd - Recycling Services to Reduce Carbon Emissions

Welshpool

Head of Finance

Salary: c\xc2\xa355-65,000 + Bonus + Benefits

The Business:

Working exclusively with Seymour John, Parry & Evans is a privately owned recycling business with operations in Welshpool and Deeside. They strive to achieve zero-waste-to-landfill and are committed to finding alternative solutions to gain value from general waste. They can recycle paper, cardboard, wood, metal, plastic and glass and operate from two centres in Welshpool and Deeside. The carbon-reduction benefits to recycling vs making new product from new raw materials are huge, for example Glass = 7x more carbon efficient, Paper and Cardboard x4, Aluminium x4-20 depending on the product. They serve a wide range of customers from retailers, hospitality, offices and manufacturers, to education, hospitals and local authorities.

They have a financially strong business with \xc2\xa315m turnover, \xc2\xa34.6m shareholders funds as at May 2022 and have been profitable for each of the last 5 years. Due to the relocation of the previous Head of Finance, we now need your help to support the business in achieving further profitable growth, particularly at a time when market conditions have become increasingly challenging.

Culture & Values - What the previous two Heads of Finance said:

Tenure: 2015 - 2019 \xe2\x80\x9cIt\'s a friendly place to work, challenging but in a good way, and they will involve you and bring you along on the journey once you\'ve established that trust \xe2\x80\xa6 and they\'ll trust you easily if you show that you genuinely care. They are open to listening and they realise the value of what you do. They will support relevant professional studies. Personally I enjoyed the banter too, it\'s a place where you can have a laugh and a joke and it\'s not a stressful environment.\xe2\x80\x9d

Tenure: 2019 - 2023 \xe2\x80\x9cI liked the relaxed atmosphere. It\'s not lax, it\'s just that the Directors put a lot of trust in you and you have the freedom to make changes. They are open to your suggestions and you can make a difference. They are also open to making the job better for you. I did enjoy it there. There is also a good right-hand person who knows their job inside out.\xe2\x80\x9d
