to support the enablement of the business through technology.

This role will play a pivotal part in enhancing performance and driving efficiencies across all areas of the business.


This newly created position will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of Powersystems information technology systems and services.

Duties and responsibilities of the role include:




Report to senior leadership on IT performance and strategic initiatives Develop and implement IT operational plans that support the company's office-based and remote staff Lead the transition to cloud-based solutions, ensuring secure and efficient adoption across project sites and offices Provide expert advice to senior leadership on emerging technologies and appropriate business solutions to enhance operations across the business Manage IT infrastructure and cybersecurity, maintaining robust disaster recovery procedures Manage relationships with MSPs and IT vendors, monitoring service delivery and costs, reviewing and negotiating contracts as necessary Coordinate with suppliers to support distributed project sites across the UK Maintain and enhance business systems including finance, HR, project management, CAD/engineering software, and CRM/ERP platforms Oversee IT systems supporting field operations, including remote site connectivity and mobile solutions Work closely with project managers, engineers, and operations teams to understand technology needs Lead and develop a team of IT Champions, promoting skills development, knowledge sharing, and fostering collaboration across business teams to support project delivery. Support the training of employees to encourage best practice and early adoption of new technologies Manage the IT budget effectively, identifying cost-saving opportunities Uphold a professional image, contribute to Powersystems' success, and proactively improve services and efficiency. Heres what you need to be successful in the role:




Proven experience as Head of IT, IT Manager, or similar role in an engineering or construction environment Hands-on experience with cloud migration projects (e.g. Azure, Microsoft 365, SharePoint) In depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, and cybersecurity Demonstrated ability to manage third-party IT suppliers and service providers effectively Familiarity of ISO 27001 or equivalent information security standards (advantageous) Project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, Agile, or equivalent) is desirable Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical and commercial information clearly, negotiate effectively, and collaborate within a dynamic team Adaptable, resilient, and proactive, with a willingness to travel across the UK (including occasional overnight stays); holds a full UK driving licence
