Job Purpose

As the Head of IT, you will be responsible for managing the company's overall IT and Systems infrastructure needs. These include cloud-based hosting, managing virtual servers (both Linux and Windows), as well as ensuring tools such as Cloudflare and Redis are performing as expected. You will also be supporting our web development team with our growing portfolio of websites (predominately Wordpress). You will also be responsible for leading our ERP development team (Team Zeus) who are contract developers. The ideal candidate will be adaptable and self-motivated with good communication skills to explain complex configurations and issues.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Management

Manage cloud-based hosting environments and virtual servers

Administer Linux and Windows server environments

Configure and maintain IIS (Internet Information Services)

Implement and manage Cloudflare services for performance and security optimization

Deploy and maintain Redis caching solutions

Monitor system performance and implement optimisation strategies

Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of web applications

Perform regular backups, updates, and security patches

Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and provide technical support

Experience of IT security best practices

Web Development

Help develop and maintain WordPress websites with WooCommerce/BigCommerce integration

Write clean, efficient PHP code following best practices

Customize themes, plugins, and functionality to meet business requirements

Implement responsive design principles and ensure cross-browser compatibility

Collaborate with design and marketing teams to translate requirements into technical solutions

Optimise website performance and user experience

Innovation

Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry best practices to continuously improve IT infrastructure and services.

Beneficial experience

(if applicable)

Python programming knowledge (a plus but not required)

Experience with database management (MySQL, PostgreSQL)

Knowledge of containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)

Understanding of web security best practices

Experience with monitoring tools and performance optimisation

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 65,000.00-70,000.00 per year
