This position will hold responsibility for Marketing Operations, and is a member of our extended leadership team, leading and optimising the overall performance of marketing services. You will manage the execution of all Marketing plans agreed between internal stakeholders, Senior Directors and the Head of Marketing Strategy.
This role ensures efficiencies and scale are delivered, and importantly, that agreed business outcomes are achieved through a combination/coordination of resources. This includes overseeing the systems, processes, analytics, and technologies that drive efficient and effective marketing execution and ensure operational excellence while supporting the GSMA overall objectives and CMO vision.
About the Team
Marketing is the cohesive force across the GSMA that strategically positions the organisation's work and the industry's significance across select channels and owned platforms to engage diverse stakeholders, drive impact, influence thinking and attract audiences, sponsors and partners.
With an increasing number of platforms and reduced attention spans, our content must be sophisticated, personalised and highly curated. Our channel mix is evolving, by region, to attract the right audience to the right content, achieving cut-through on board and organisational priorities.
And in an increasingly fractured world, in which people are feeling more and more aggrieved, we safeguard the GSMA's reputation so it can continue to operate at global scale.
About the role
Operational Strategy & LeadershipDevelop and implement a holistic marketing plan aligned with GSMA objectives Lead initiatives to optimize marketing processes, workflows, and governance structures, resulting in increased efficiency, improved campaign execution, and enhanced team collaboration Deliver agreed customer experience Establish and drive a culture of continuous improvement within the marketing organisation

Marketing Technology & SystemsEvaluate, implement, and integrate new tools and platforms. (e.g., CRM, automation, analytics platforms), ensuring tools are integrated and optimised Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve marketing performance and productivity

Future of Marketing Tech & AI (embedding AI fluency into strategy and execution, from discovery to conversion)AI & automation - driving innovation across the entire lifecycle from content ops to CX Data maturity and decision intelligence - deliver robust, governed data layer across web, apps, and CRM AI-driven search to enable discoverability - leveraging the changing nature of SEO, and the impact of the change in mechanism away from index-based search to structured data/API-first web models and how AI and search agents (like ChatGPT or Perplexity) change how users find content Innovation ownership - identify, trial, and scale emerging tech for marketing impact (e.g. LLM integration, personalisation engines, voice search, smart content delivery)

Process Optimisation ManagementDesign and maintain scalable marketing workflows and standard operating procedures Ensure smooth execution of campaigns and programmes across multiple channels and regions

Performance & AnalyticsDefine KPIs, create dashboards, and deliver actionable insights to improve campaign effectiveness and ROI Lead marketing attribution, pipeline reporting, and forecasting efforts Oversee the development of marketing dashboards, reports, and insights to enable data-driven decisions Ensure accuracy and consistency of marketing data across platforms

Budgeting & Resource ManagementLead annual marketing planning and budgeting processes Drive marketing spend efficiency and ROI through strong budget governance and resource allocation

About YouExperience in leading marketing operations function or business operations roles Deep knowledge of B2B marketing funnels and metrics Strong experience with marketing automation platforms (e.g. Salesforce Marketing Cloud and MCP in Marketing) or similar platforms Proven ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and manage cross-functional projects Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving and project management skills Strong understanding of data privacy, compliance (e.g., GDPR, CAN-SPAM), and best practices in lead management Demonstrated success in driving marketing efficiency and effectiveness Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with a proven ability to influence across functions
