We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic individual who will be able to bring ideas and innovation to enhance our children's experience in the nursery. This person will be responsible for mentoring staff and promoting exciting practise to stretch and engage our young learners. This person will be responsible to develop our parent partnership focusing on events to work with the Director and management team to deliver the values and ethos of Wiggles and Giggles Oldbury.
Main responsibilities:
Leadership & Staff Development:
Support, mentor, and inspire our team to continually improve professional standards, fostering a culture of growth, collaboration, and excellence.
Collaborative Leadership:
Work effectively as part of the senior management team and carry out tasks and responsibilities delegated by the Director to support the overall success of the organisation.
Child Development & Wellbeing:
Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that champions the wellbeing of children, encouraging curiosity and confidence.
Environment Management:
Create a vibrant, engaging, and safe nursery environment that supports early learning and reflects our child-led philosophy.
Curriculum Development & Delivery:
Support the development of a stimulating and progressive Early Years curriculum and ensure its consistent and effective delivery across the setting.
Policy & Procedure Implementation:
Review, enhance, and maintain nursery policies and procedures, ensuring all staff are trained and compliant with current best practices and regulatory standards.
Ofsted Readiness & Leadership:
Lead the nursery through Ofsted inspections, ensuring full compliance with all regulatory requirements and consistently high standards of care and education.
Parent Partnership:
Build strong, trusting relationships with families through regular communication, feedback, and shared learning goals.
Community & Events Leadership:
Plan and lead engaging events and celebrations for children and parents, fostering a strong sense of community and belonging.
Recruitment & Retention:
Lead on the recruitment of talented staff who share our values, ensuring rigorous onboarding. To develop high staff morale and support staff well-being.
Marketing & Promotion:
Advertise and promote the nursery locally and online to maintain healthy occupancy levels and a strong community presence.
Financial Oversight:
Oversee budgeting, accounting, and invoicing to ensure smooth, sustainable financial operations and support long-term goals.
To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed, in accordance with the nursery aims and objectives
Requirements
Level 3 (or above) qualification in Early Years Childcare (Level 6 preferred)
Proven experience in a leadership role within an early years setting
Strong understanding of EYFS framework, safeguarding, and OFSTED requirements
Excellent communication, budgeting, and organisational skills
A genuine passion for delivering outstanding early years education
