Job Summary

We are looking for a strategic, results-driven Head of Operations to lead and oversee the entire operational function of our UK operations. This senior leadership role is responsible for ensuring the efficient, scalable, and cost-effective running of fulfilment activities, including warehousing, order processing, shipping, inventory control, and operational planning. You will play a key role in shaping the growth and continuous improvement of our fulfilment operations, aligning day-to-day execution with long-term business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Lead all operational aspects of the fulfilment warehouse, ensuring performance, quality, and efficiency targets are consistently met or exceeded. Develop and execute operational strategies to support business growth, improve customer satisfaction, and drive scalability. Define and track operational KPIs (e.g., order accuracy, on-time dispatch, throughput, labour cost per order) and deliver actionable insights. Support continuous improvement initiatives such as automation strategies, to optimize fulfilment processes. Collaborate closely with senior leadership across departments (e.g., Commercial, Supply Chain, IT, Finance) to ensure operational alignment. Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cost control across the warehouse function. Ensure full compliance with health & safety, legal, and regulatory standards. Lead operational change management, including system implementations, warehouse expansions, and process redesign. Build and develop a high-performance culture, mentoring key talent and supporting succession planning within the operations team. Support strong relationships with third-party carriers, suppliers, and technology providers to enhance service and cost efficiency.

Skills & Qualifications

Minimum 5-7 years of senior-level operations experience in a high-volume fulfilment, e-commerce, or distribution environment. Proven experience managing large teams and complex warehouse operations, preferably across multiple shifts or sites. Strong strategic thinking with the ability to execute at both a tactical and leadership level. Demonstrated success in delivering operational improvements and driving performance metrics. Deep understanding of fulfilment technologies, WMS platforms, and automation solutions. Strong financial acumen, including budget management and cost control. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or related field (preferred).
