The Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to take on the role of Head of Submarine Rescue Operations (HOSR). This is a critical leadership position responsible for the safe delivery of global submarine rescue operations. You will ensure the readiness of qualified personnel, oversee operational doctrine, and manage training assurance across a global team.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead a global, multi-disciplinary team to deliver JFD's Submarine Rescue Operations strategy
Oversee operational training assurance, doctrine, and safety case delivery
Manage the Global Longcast and allocate resources to meet contract and project needs
Chair the Training & Competency Review Board and Operational Working Group
Provide specialist input to new build projects and service contracts
Ensure compliance with safety standards and participate in safety reviews (DARs/DACs/SRMs)
Represent JFD in senior stakeholder engagements and client interactions
Qualifications and Experience:
Proven leadership of large, multi-disciplinary teams (ideally 40+ people)
Experience in operations at sea, preferably with underwater/diving/submarine background
Strong safety assurance expertise
Comfortable with international travel and flexible working patterns
Experience in defence/offshore/marine sectors
Budget and operational planning capabilities
Desirable:
commercial subsea experience
Familiarity with hyperbaric systems and marine/defence standards
Experience with training frameworks and certification processes
Due to the requirements of this role,
