Are you passionate about shaping a high-performing, inclusive workforce? Do you have the vision and expertise to lead organisational development strategies that drive sustainable change? If so, we want you to join us as our Head of Organisational Development.

As Head of Organisational Development, you will lead the Council's OD function, ensuring our workforce is equipped with the skills, values, and behaviours to deliver exceptional services to our communities. This is a pivotal role, working closely with Elected Members, Strategic Directors, and senior management teams to influence workforce priorities, challenge existing approaches, and identify innovative solutions.

You will provide strategic leadership for Council-wide OD programmes, championing equality, diversity, and inclusion while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Your work will ensure the Council operates as a high-performing, customer-focused organisation and becomes an employer of choice across the borough.

In this role, you will:

Develop and deliver organisational development strategies that enable sustainable change. Lead on workforce improvement initiatives, including learning solutions, talent and succession planning, inclusion strategies, and performance management frameworks. Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, providing challenge and insight to drive innovation. Champion equality, diversity, and inclusion across all workforce initiatives. Inspire and develop your team, creating opportunities for growth and collaboration. Utilise OD techniques to design impactful interventions that maximise workforce outcomes. Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and alignment with corporate objectives.

We're looking for a dynamic leader with:

Significant experience in organisational development and workforce strategy. Strong influencing skills and the ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders. A track record of delivering transformational change in complex organisations. Expertise in OD methodologies, talent management, and inclusion strategies. A collaborative approach and commitment to continuous improvement.

We welcome applications from all sectors. Experience in the public sector is advantageous, but what matters most is your ability to lead with purpose, deliver results, and inspire others.

If you're ready to make a lasting difference and lead a team that's shaping the future of our organisation, we'd love to hear from you.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of our workforce and make a real difference to the communities we serve. You'll join a forward-thinking authority that values innovation, inclusion, and excellence.

We're proud to be a workplace that values diversity, promotes inclusion, and supports development. If you're ready to make a strategic impact and grow your career, we'd love to hear from you.
